Not always. Viking’s 5 and 7 Series gas ranges set the oven with a temperature knob, and older freestanding gas models keep a thermostat behind that knob. The VGSC self-cleaning gas ranges add a timer and door-lock board, and the 5 Series built-in electric ovens an Electronic Timing Center.
