What stops a 7 Series freezer column making ice?
Usually a setting or the water: ice switched off at the ICE button, the ice maker arm left raised, a closed supply valve, or a freezer not yet down to temperature. With all four ruled out, the fill valve or the ice maker is next. Viking Repair Kirkland tests both at your home; call (425) 629-0033.

1Is the ICE button on the control panel lit blue?
No call yet Blue means ice production is on, which is how Viking ships it. If the button is dark, one press turns it back on.

2Is the ice maker arm, above the top drawer on the left, sitting down?

Why would a freezer column stop making ice?
Four things have to hold at once: ice production switched on, the arm down, water arriving at the valve, and a freezer cold enough to freeze each fill. Take any one away and the tray sits empty. Three of those are checks you can make in a minute, and the fourth is a reading on the display. Only when all four hold does the search move inside the ice maker.
Which parts are behind a no-ice fault?
The water inlet valve, which opens to fill the tray (Viking’s guide says it buzzes while it fills); the ice maker itself, whose small motor turns the cubes out; and the supply between them, where a kinked line or a frozen fill tube stops the water. If the freezer is the real problem, the cause is a fan, a defrost part or the cooling system, and the ice returns once that is repaired.
What does MAX ICE change?
It drops the freezer to its coldest setting for 48 hours so a working ice maker turns out more. It cannot start one that is not filling, and it will not help while the water is shut off. Ice that tastes odd is a separate matter: a filter due for change, or cubes left in the bin too long.
